Welcome From the Principal

Shawnna Pierce Principal

Shawnna Pierce
Principal

Welcome to Paragon Mills Elementary! I am blessed and honored to serve as the very proud principal of PMES. I value nothing more than education. My core values: connection, reflection, growth & grith are at the center of my work and continues to fuel my desire to ensure kids receive the best education possible. I began my career as an elementary paraprofessional and then served in a variety of roles such as classroom teacher, literacy interventionists, literacy coach, English Language development coach, and assistant principal. The 2019-2020 school year is my second year to serve as Executive Principal at Paragon Mills Elementary. I am passionate about teaching and learning and have sought out leadership roles that gave me opportunities to collaborate with all community members. I am committed to maintaining a positive school climate, implementing structures and process for collaboration and growth, and ensuring transparent communication by encouraging dialouge and input from all stakeholders. I promise to build and foster a culture of shared leadership, and will relentlessly strive to monitor and adjust school programs to always meet the needs of our scholars.
