Welcome to Our School
Welcome! I am extremely grateful to serve the students, teachers, and families of Margaret Allen Middle School.
Our focus is to ensure that every student is receiving a high quality education everyday. It is our goal to provide students with personalized supports to ensure their success today and for years to come by engaging them in academic learning experiences that are relevant, challenging, and exploratory. Our teachers and staff are committed to creating and maintaining an environment that is inclusive, safe, challenging, and supportive.
It is my goal to work collectively and collaboratively with all stakeholders to embrace the diversity of our school community, build and foster a positive school climate, promote high expectations for teachers and students, and encourage life-long learning throughout the school community. Together, we will prepare our students for high school and post-secondary success.
Again, I am thankful for the opportunity to serve such a remarkable school community, and together, we will achieve excellence.

Margaret Allen students are a very diverse group of approximately 500 students who live in the Antioch community. There are 21 different languages spoken within the school walls.
At Margaret Allen, we work together and support each other. Our students embrace the three Rs at our school: being respectful, responsible and ready. Students enjoy coming to school where they actively participate in academics and non-academic activities. We even offer several student-centered activities during the summer.
Our 5th and 6th grade students follow the family model where they are attached to a two-person teacher team for the majority of their classwork. Our teachers and administrators believe in celebrating student achievement—our EL teachers even went to the homes of students who had exited out of the program during the summer to let them know the good news.
Margaret Allen uses Restorative Practices to handle major disciple issues. This involves helping the students to understand the impact their words and actions have on others and change their behavior based on what is best for all students.
We offer three 8th grade classes for high school credit—Integrated Math, Physical Science and Spanish I. After-school programs include YMCA NAZA, tutoring and guitar. In addition, we perform a drama in the fall and musical in the spring. We also have a Video Game Club and a Step Club that meet after school. Our goal is to provide experiences and opportunities that speak directly to the middle school child.
