Pathways

School Description

Joelton Middle School offers a curriculum focused on the four 21st century competencies: critical thinking, communication, collaboration and creativity. Our teachers use project-based learning to increase academics for all students. Our students will experience a challenge in academics while gaining an appreciation for technology. Students will also acquire and refine the rigor and skills that will maximize their educational and career options. Project-based learning will be the driving force behind academic growth.

Our mission is to provide a safe learning environment, set high academic expectations, meet the social and academic needs of students and prepare students for high school, college and their careers.

We offer five TSSAA-sanctioned sports, including football, basketball and volleyball. Extracurricular opportunities band, student government, newspaper, and our students have the opportunity to participate in clubs for one hour every other Friday. Some of our clubs include: chess, short film, global citizens, garden, crafting and forensic speaking.

Music Makes Us is a citywide music literacy program, working to bring more music to more students through traditional and modern music and engaging classes like Rock Band, Songwriting, Hip Hop, World Percussion, Mariachi and more. Our recently renovated Library Media Center allows our students to choose what’s available from every public library in Nashville, thanks to the Limitless Libraries program.
