Welcome From the Principal

Carl Anthony Febles Principal

Carl Anthony Febles

I’m honored to welcome you to J.E. Moss Elementary. We are one of only two model schools within the district for social and emotional learning and the Responsive Classroom approach. What that means to your family is that our highly trained faculty makes sure every child feels welcome, respected and like an important part of our learning community while growing in their education. If you have questions, I’m happy to discuss the benefits of this approach.

Have a look around, learn more and come visit us anytime.

School Description

At J.E. Moss Elementary, we actively teach skills that go beyond academics in preparing our children to pursue their own lifelong passions. As one of two model schools for social and emotional learning and the Responsive Classroom approach, our faculty is dedicated to the development of each child—as a student and as a person. We incorporate practices that make our classrooms more stimulating, challenging, safer and happier.

Our students speak more than 21 languages and are from all over the world. We believe this diversity is a major strength of our school and teaches our students tolerance and love for one another. To help serve this incredible student body, we offer English language learning and mathematical practice. There are also remedial instructional opportunities throughout the school day, after-school tutoring, as well as Encore, the district’s program for gifted learners.

On top of academics, we offer many programs to keep our students engaged. The Mustang Singers are an after-school choir of 3rd- and 4th-grade students who sing at numerous school and community functions. Other after-school enrichment activities include drama, debate and speech, and garden club.
