Welcome From the Principal
Welcome to Hillwood High School. At Hillwood, we celebrate the individual and collective strengths of our students, and we value student achievement across academics, the arts, and athletics. At Hillwood, our three academies have achieved national model status, and our students are recognized for success in and out of the classroom. Our students receive a positive and meaningful high school experience.
I have been serving the students of Metro Schools for over 20 years. I previously served as the executive principal at Oliver Middle School. Prior to these roles, I was an academy principal, academy coach, instructional coach, and classroom teacher. I am excited to be working with the students and families at Hillwood and look forward to a great 2018-19 school year!
This year and I am joined by four talented academy principals, Ms. Celia Jolly, Mr. Ronald Sparkman, Dr. Danielle Holdren, and Mr. Todd Colicchio. Along with our highly trained and dedicated faculty and staff, we are honored to work with over 1,000 students and their families. If you would like to learn more about Hillwood High School, I personally invite you to take a tour and come see all that is taking place at Hillwood!

At Hillwood High School, students have the opportunity to develop both career and college readiness skills through the variety of programs offered. Enrollment in career academies offers students the opportunity to work with local business partners, attend job shadows and internships and earn industry certifications.
In addition to enrolling in one of Hillwood’s three career academies, students also have the opportunity take multiple advanced placement courses and dual enrollment courses. These options give each student the opportunity to tailor a personalized learning plan to fit his or her needs. The myriad of academic opportunities, coupled with a robust fine arts and athletics program provide students with an inclusive and supportive environment that challenges them to work to their full potential.
We invite all interested families and students to visit Hillwood and see first-hand the many opportunities the school has to offer.
