Dr. Matthew Owensby

Welcome to Hermitage Elementary, the first Cambridge Primary School in Tennessee! In addition to offering this internationally developed curriculum, we pride ourselves on being a family- and student-centered school. Our mission is to be a model learning community of excellence and achievement, and we partner with parents to ensure each child is successful.

We recently celebrated our 50th anniversary by undergoing a major renovation to update and upgrade for modern technology. We intend to make Hermitage the best choice for families by providing the resources to help our students perform in the 21st century. If you'd like to visit us or talk with us, I’d love to help you learn more about our great school.

Hermitage Elementary

School Description

Hermitage Elementary is the first and only Cambridge Primary School in our state. By beginning their education at Hermitage Elementary, students in the Donelson area can now experience an internationally developed curriculum that fosters inquiry, problem-solving and next-level thinking throughout their educational pathway. The Cambridge curriculum is already in place at Donelson Middle Prep and McGavock High School.

In addition to this advanced program that all students participate in, we offer a well-rounded education that meets and exceeds the requirements of the school district and state.

Parents love that our school is welcoming and open. Parents can join us anytime and are encouraged to partner with us to make learning an ongoing process for their child. Our resources for parents include frequent communication, parent-teacher conferences, academic data meetings, parenting seminars, financial training and a food bank.
