Hello and welcome to Haynes Medical Science Design Center! We are a small learning environment with a core group of loving and caring faculty, students, and parents. At Haynes we are dedicated. We strive to build our students to become lifelong learners and contributing members of society.

Health science adds pinnacle value to society and our focus is to reveal the various opportunities  this field provides to our community. Haynes has partnered with Meharry Medical College and Tennessee State University in an effort to encourage our students to pursue careers in the medical field. Our program provides hands-on experiences which allow our students to explore the careers and various avenues that health sciences offers.

As educators we strive to create a nurturing, yet challenging learning environment. Students leave Haynes prepared for high school socially, emotionally, and academically. Feel free to visit us to witness and participate in the journey as we lead our students down the road to success.

Haynes Middle

School Description

Haynes Middle Health/Medical Science Design Center is a small learning community that provides a core exploration in Health and Medical Science in a Paideia learning environment. At Haynes, which is a pathway to East Nashville Magnet, we blend a liberal arts focus with health and medical science electives in a holistic and rigorous curriculum that prepares all students for high school and post-secondary education.

The hallmark of our school is the unique ability for our students to explore future science and medical careers as part of their school experience. We are the only middle school in MNPS with a health and medical focus, and through active partnerships with Vanderbilt University, Meharry Medical College and School of Dentistry, Fisk University and Tennessee State University, to name a few, our students have access to real-world and practical experiences in these important, high-wage fields.

In addition, Haynes offers two high-school credit classes—Algebra I and Physical Science—and a range of related arts classes, including band, world percussion, art, health/medical science and physical education.
