School Description

Tusculum Elementary is a welcoming school of many cultures and we have wholeheartedly embraced our diversity. Our students hail from at least 19 different countries and speak a multitude of languages.

At Tusculum, students come to a caring environment where they have the opportunity to learn core academics and how to work together with their classmates. Students experience high-quality, engaging teaching from instructors trained in a variety of strategies to meet their individual needs, whether they’re gifted students who can benefit from our Encore program, or English Language Learners.

Tusculum’s caring environment also extends to our students’ families. As a Community Achieves school, we have a Family Resource Center that offers such programs as ESL, citizenship and computer skills classes for parents. Because our community partnerships are many, our Family Resource Center coordinates volunteers to work with students and provides standard school attire and school supplies when needed. In addition to the FRC, we also have a family engagement specialist who helps with the practical everyday needs of families. Plus, our school has access to translators for clear communication with all of our parents. Breakfast With the Principals is an event that takes place once a month, providing parents a relaxed atmosphere to get updates about school and share concerns with administrators.

Because we are growing, Tusculum is undergoing construction. We are looking forward to moving into our new building in August 2017. Students and teachers are anticipating a new learning space and new technology. It is an exciting time to be a part of Tusculum Elementary—a great place to learn and grow!
