James Urquhart
Principal

Welcome to Norman Binkley Elementary, where we develop lifelong learners and productive citizens who are prepared for college and career.

I believe that diversity is one of our greatest strengths, and we strive to encourage all students to learn and grow together in a multicultural environment that best represents our world today. In fact, ask any Norman Binkley parent, and they’ll probably say this is one of the things they like most about our school. We encourage you to come for a visit and see for yourself.

School Description

At Norman Binkley Elementary, our diversity is our strength. We are proud to provide a multicultural environment that strives to develop the whole person and encourages all ethnicities and cultures to demonstrate academic, social and behavioral progress through collaboration and cooperation. When our students leave, they will possess the knowledge, confidence and character to make their future the best it can be.

We offer Encore for gifted learners, have a model MNPS Media Center and Art Room, and our visual and performing arts programs are among the best in the district. We have a music room that contains a guitar lab, drums and keyboarding lab that enables our students to learn several instruments before leaving elementary school. Our art room provides our students a great place to create and learn about our different cultures.

Additionally, we strive to provide activities relevant to our students and their families, such as Multicultural Night, Data Nights, Reading Nights, 4th grade Graduation, as well as many others.
